Found a source locally. 24 tablets for $3. Coughlins brand.

How long is the shelf life if unopened?

How good is the heat output?

We used them in the Army (British). Don't use them in an enclosed space as they stink and the gas is toxic.
they're ok for heating water in a mess tin, or soup or an mre, but in my opinion they're only really good for emergency cooking on a small scale.
they're worth having though.
They came with a small metal fold out stove.
